i would translate it, but i dont know all that terms.
ok: ip address atm is:
169.254.168.91
subnetmask is:
255.255.0.0
standard-gateway aint set
dhcp is activated, autoconfiguration is activated.

that is the output of ipconfig /all for the device/ethernet i am / i seem to be using (PRO 100/VE).

okay, you don't want addresses starting with 169... those addresses are automatically assigned when the connection to the DHCP server is not working correctly. "Most" of the time the address you want is a 192.168... number. if you can't get the DHCP server to give you one send me the address of your modem/router so I can give you an address to manually try.

Edit, that is the local IP address not your modems external address.

Now that you are an Admin here on Compton Networks Forum you have the power to do such things. I couldn't tell what part you edited as my memory is not so great. Just be careful with your new power my friend. Thank you for all your help. I have also made Edbarx an admin, didn't you read the forum news?
